Moving to a new home can be a bit overwhelming. There is so much to do and lots of little details to attend to. But moving doesn’t have to be a pain. With this easy checklist moving can be a lot less of a hassle. Following this checklist will help your move go more smoothly and be a lot more fun.

Must Have Checklist For Easy Moving:

• First you want to decide when you want to move, and then count backwards from that time to establish a timeline for when things need to be done

• When you are setting up your time line put everything into chucks of time, such as eight weeks until the move, six weeks until the move and so forth right up to moving day. This helps to organize things better.

Eight Weeks Before You Move

• Set the date of your actual move

• If you plan on using professional movers get at least three quotes from reliable and trustworthy movers

• If you are going to be doing the moving your self get started, it will probably take longer than you expect to get everything done

• Decide where you are going to put your furniture in your new home. Having a floor plan will help you accomplish this task

Six Weeks Before You Move

• If you have hired a moving company discuss your moving plans with them in detail

• Inventory all of your possessions for insurance purposes. Hopefully you won’t need this, but if anything happens it will help to have things documented. This will also help you locate things after the move

• If you are packing your self, without using a professional mover, be sure to label everything. This will make unpacking so much easier.

• Let the post office and any other important companies know of your impending move
