How To Get The Most Money For Your Property Part 2

When you are selling your home making it look as nice and inviting as possible is extremely important. But make sure that you don’t focus all of your attention on the inside though.

The Outside Counts Too

First appearances are very important so it is vital that you pay attention to what your prospective buyer will see when they pull up to your house. If your yard is messy and your property is untidy it will convey to the buyers that you don’t care about your property and don’t take good care of it. A buyer is less likely to buy a home when they don’t think that the owners have not taken good care of it. Make sure that your property really makes a good first impression when someone comes to look at your house.

  • If you can’t make the property look nice yourself hire a lawn care professional to do the work for you.
  • Make sure that all of the grass on your property has been mowed and looks neat and tidy.
  • Trim all the hedges to give a crisp and clean appearance.
  • Make sure all of the edges are whipper-snipped.
  • Trim tree branches and prune of all dead foliage to make them appear nicer.
  • Take advantage of the nice weather and plant some flowers or shrubs around your property to add some color and extra appeal. A colorful and pretty garden will impress most buyers.
  • Invest in some nice potted plants to put near the front entrance to add color and beauty.

In the next installment we will continue to look at ways to make the outside of your home appealing and attractive to prospective buyers to get you the best price for your home.

  1. Hi Sean,

The outside of your home and the yard is the first thing that potential buyers see when they show up to look it over. If it doesn’t look great; they might just keep driving.

It doesn’t take a lot of effort to mow the lawn and make sure the garden is looking awesome.
